about

Hi there! My name is Christina, and I've loved doing arts & crafts ever since I was a young girl. Growing up in a typical traditional Chinese household, I never fathomed that creating art (in any form) could be a career. In my late 20s, I rediscovered my childhood interests and began to dabble with a variety of artistic hobbies. I currently work as a data analyst, but after hours, I dedicate my time to create!

my mission

Craft happiness, spread the love

My portfolio

  • (DIY) Crafts: ranging from customized wedding signs and notebooks, handmade flowers, to party decorations

  • Cards: handmade, personalized cards for all occasions

  • Calligraphy: specifically modern and copperplate calligraphy using traditional dip pens and brush pens

  • Crochet: amigurumis (small stuffed yarn creatures), coasters, beanies

Q&A

what's sweetyippie?

sweetyippie is a play on words of my last name and my love for sweets and baking (although I no longer have an interest in baking). It's now grown to one of my core values of being kind (and sweet) to others.

Crochet, calligraphy, diy crafts, and cards!? That seems like a lot of interests to have...
Yes, but I enjoy doing them all! It's fun for me to practice different types of art forms and jump from one project to another.

Do you sell anything that you make?

Yes! Check out my Etsy Shop to see what's available now. I create new items regularly, so be sure to check often. If you are interested in something customized, please contact me by email at sweetyippiecrafts@gmail.com

What are your favorite craft products?

My favorite brush pen is the Tombow Fudenosuke soft because it is easy to use and provides a rich dark black color. I also love to use walnut ink for dip pen calligraphy because it doesn't cause my nibs to rust as quickly like other inks and it's not expensive to buy. And whenever I work on my calligraphy, I always use my handy Scotch laser light. It's so helpful because then I don't actually need a pencil and eraser to create and erase lines.

I absolutely love my Cricut Explore Air 2 in glacier blue. The color is so calming. My favorite Cricut vinyls are Adhesive Foil Metallic in Rose Gold and Holographic in Opal. I use my Cricut machine to create cards and other DIY projects.
